Foster Care 2.0 is an overdue Reboot of our broken system

The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones that do.

It is safe to say that Foster Care has hit rock bottom and it’s time for an intervention. Half a million children in this country live in foster homes. That’s more than the entire population of Miami. They have no voice, no passionate Mama or Papa Bear, to protect and advocate for them. Often the abuse and neglect that landed them there continues at the hands of those we provide to care for them.

We CANNOT tolerate this for one more day. We know better. We must do better.

We are creating a new model of foster care that truly provides safe, committed & loving homes for traumatized at-risk children.  Our mission is to design and implement solutions we can be proud of using innovative practices proven to drastically improve outcomes.

Our local vision of foster care transformation will be implemented in San Diego, CA. We will produce significantly improved outcomes for children, beginning with ages 6-10, in safe and loving foster homes with qualified and committed parents.

If we can all agree that abused children's lives are as important as ours, then our actions from now on will show it. Their future is a place that we create...

Our larger vision of foster care transformation demands commitment from stakeholders nationwide.  This global model is truly transformative with a new definition of foster parents, much the same as that of professional super heroes – police, firefighters, and military -- who do the work that others can’t or won’t to keep us safe. Instead of begging unqualified volunteers to do this crucial and challenging work, we will select and train the most qualified caregivers based on education, experience and ability to nurture. We will provide all the support needed to succeed, because our tiny, traumatized victims are worth it.
